Our client is a world leading Investment Bank with a strong and growing local footprint. The department is responsible for delivering measurable business value by providing core technology solutions that meet business demands.
The successful applicant will be required to provide technical leadership to a global team who monitor and support the SCOM infrastructure. They must execute daily support functions and perform BAU activities. They must also plan and execute regular DR tests required by the business, perform regular maintenance and upgrades to infrastructure to ensure a stable operational environment to users. Perform global health checks for SCOM to ensure 24x7 support for the applications relying on it. The other key responsibilities of the role would include infrastructure monitoring of SCOM management consoles and database; perform risk reporting and monitoring of systems; ensure regular maintenance activities; capacity management; monitoring systems for gaps in security and risk policies; incident and problem management and lastly to monitor the service requests queues to ensure all processes and service levels are met. Hours of coverage will vary in order to provide a 24x5 coverage across all regions.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
- At least a Bachelor degree or equivalent education / work experience
- Distributed computing operations experience working in a large-scale, complex, global environment
- Working experience in the financial services industry would be an advantage
- Strong understanding of computer operations and data center procedures, understanding of ITIL methodologies will be an advantage
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to liaise effectively with other teams globally. Able to articulate clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Broad technical skills in Microsoft Server W2Kn, Systems Center Operation Manager and Microsoft Operations Manager and associated toolsets.
- Broad understanding of all MS products with an understanding of operations management and automation.
- Capable of planning and delivering small intra team programs and leading small to medium projects Ability to run deliver small projects.
- Experience of scripting tools to allow automation of key operational functions a definite plus.
- Strong Problem management and troubleshooting skills.
- Self motivated
- Able to work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to multi task and effectively prioritize critical tasks
