For the SEARS OUTLET STORES the Inventory Director hasdirect responsibility for meeting the overall Profit and Loss (PL) financial performance objectives of the business. Sears Outlet a $500 million dollar business with 110+ stores locatedin various retail locations across the U.S. We carry new, one-of-a-kind, out ofcarton, discontinued, used, scratched and dented merchandise at twenty to sixtypercent off regular retail price. Theemphasis of this role is to drive top line sales increases to liquidateinventories while achieving bottom line profitability. This position works closely with the Senior InventoryDirector to coordinate the efforts of the Outlet Buying Manager and InventoryManagement team to ensure product is positioned for liquidation, sold at orabove planned margins and achieves inventory turnover goals. The InventoryDirector works to build relationships with major manufacturers/vendors toprocure relevant Outlet products at costing that supports the Outlet financialplan. The Inventory Director works closely with the marketing and ecommerce teamsto support sales growth by communicating inventory positions and working to strategicallyleverage all sales channels to increase product visibility. The InventoryDirector creates and leverages all best practices to ensure consistency inexecution of all Balanced Scorecard objectives. Also, this position is responsible for developing and motivating theteam to support and execute plans through the DVP of Stores/Regional SalesDirectors and Store Managers, as well as instilling a culture centered on thecustomer. MUST HAVE good knowledge of the vendor groups andassociations for purchase of liquidation, buy backs, closeouts, damaged goodsand overstock products. This is a special community requiring an exceptional type of toughness and fortitude.
