Seasonal Customer Experience Representative (CER) - Task-Indigo Kids
The CER - Task role is the customer representative of Indigo Books Music Inc. whose primary focus is to perform tasking duties (cycle counting and replenishment), and also perform receiving duties (processing incoming store merchandise) as required. This focus is critical to delivering a life-enriching experience for our customers, each and every time they visit our stores.
The seasonal period is from October 1, 2011 to January 14, 2012. You must be available a minimum of 3 shifts per week, including evening and weekend shifts from October 1, 2011 through to January 14, 2012. Please note that this availability requirement does not guarantee hours and your schedule will be based on the needs of the business.
As part of our exciting in-store team, your focus will be:
Operations:
- Support the daily operations of the store prior to opening; shelving, maintaining general organization and cleanliness
- Assist with inventory cycle count and task force activities (merchandising, cycle counting, processing returns)
- Ensure all merchandise is received, processed and ready for placement onto the sales floor in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness of receiving area
- Solve issues, working through them and escalating to a leader when required
- Assist in store merchandising and maintain general organization and cleanliness of the store
- Perform additional tasks to improve the customer experience as required

- Represents Indigo Books Music Inc. as a brand ambassador while interacting with the local community both in and out of the store
- Solve issues, working through them and escalating to a leader when required

Job Requirements :
You are the ideal candidate if you have:
- The ability to work 5 hour shifts prior to store opening; 5am start, Monday to Friday (shifts are subject to change in accordance with Company policy and guidelines)
- An solid understanding of customer service
- An interest in building customer relationships
- A willingness to learn and demonstrate effective sales techniques
- An efficient, methodical approach (with a sense of urgency) and a strong attention to detail
- The ability to take an initiative and solve problems
- Strong multitasking and organization skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- The ability to work independently and within a team
- Familiarity with technology applications (MS Office)
- Previous stockroom or shipping and receiving experience (asset)
- General merchandising experience (asset)
- Indigo product-line knowledge (asset)
