Securities-Based Lending Credit
Position Description
Job Overview:
Seeking an experienced securities-based lending credit professional to oversee the documentation, underwriting and credit functions for a multi-billion $ securities-based lending ("SBL") portfolio within the Wealth Management space. Individual will be responsible for making credit decisions on loan requests. The individual will oversee Credit Professionals in their day to day work requirements and will be involved with reporting risk to Credit Risk and Bank Management. The individual will work with Lending Operations and Wealth Management business counterparts to address credit risk related issues and advance projects.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise a team of Credit Professionals in the PLA credit team
• Work closely with staff from the affiliated broker-dealer, particularly in regards to exceptions
•Reviewing unusual collateral and borrower legal structures to determine acceptability and appropriate advance rates
•Provide credit support to financial advisors nationwide
•Work closely with credit risk management/operational staff in assessing risk due to market changes
•Work closely with field sales on large loan transactions and escalations
•Provide assistance to credit partners for other bank products when applicable
Skills Required
Qualifications:
• BA/BC; preferably finance, accounting or economics
•5 yrs securities based lending experience
• Prior managerial experience
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
Skills/Abilities:
•Credit background with a specific understanding of SBL underwriting polices and practices.
•Strong internal and external customer focus.
•Ability to work in a matrixed organization leveraging resources across the organization to complete deliverables.
•Strong analytical and credit skills.
•Ability to work on multiple tasks accurately and with attention to detail in a fast paced, demanding environment.
•Highly effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
•High energy level and the ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
Skills Desired
• MBA a plus
• Series 7 securities license preferred
