Position Description

Job Overview:

Seeking a securities-based credit professional to oversee the documentation, underwriting, collateral review, and credit functions for a multi-billion $ securities-based loan ("SBL") portfolio within the Wealth Management space. Individual will be responsible for documenting and underwriting securities based loans for Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. The individual will work with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management ("WM"), Credit Risk Management and other areas of the Firm to support and coordinate the Banks securities based lending efforts.

Responsibilities:

•Responsible for reviewing loan requests and rendering credit decisions
•Reviewing unusual collateral and borrower legal structures to determine acceptability
•Provide credit support to financial advisors and private bankers nationwide
•Work closely with credit risk management/operational staff in assessing risk due to market changes
•Work closely with credit, business, and operations staff from the affiliated broker-dealer
•Provide assistance to credit partners for other bank products when applicable

Skills Required

Qualifications:

• BA/BS; preferably finance, accounting or economics
• Prior Securities-based lending experience (1-3 years)
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Prior credit experience

•Credit background with a specific understanding of SBL underwriting polices and practices.
•Strong internal and external customer focus.
•Ability to work in a matrixed organization leveraging resources across the organization to complete deliverables.
•Strong analytical and credit skills.
•Ability to work on multiple tasks accurately and with attention to detail in a fast paced, demanding environment.
•Highly effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
•High energy level and the ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment

Skills Desired

Series 7 securities license preferred
