Securities Operations Specialist
We currently have an opening in our Hong Kong Securities Operations department for a Securities Operations Associate with Corporate Actions experience. The associate will be responsible for the announcement and processing of corporate actions primary focusing on the correct and timely notification and reflection of the corporate event in the client’s portfolio. A corporate action is an event initiated by a public company that effects the securities (equity or debt) issued by the company. In addition, the associate must be able to prioritize urgent workload items and requests, while managing administrative duties, projects and training.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with corporate actions events within specified deadlines, ensuring each event delivered in a timely manner
- Assist with client inquiries regarding each event and providing corresponding information if needed
- Assist with the follow up on outstanding events from the clients ensuring all corporate action elections are received prior to the event deadline
- Performing back office operations such as, processing transactions (withdrawals, transfers, deposits, etc.) and posting deposits (credit card, wires, online checks, bank checks)
- Processing and activating new client trading accounts and perform client maintenance requests
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of prior corporate actions experience and knowledgeable in all areas of securities specifically in the US equities market
- All candidates must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), the Internet, and Adobe Acrobat
- Prior customer service or financial services experience is preferred
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effectively make judgment calls on a regular basis
- Can attend client meetings in a professional manner and build strong client service level relationships with integrity and confidence.
- Flexible to work other shifts when necessary
- Possess a high-tolerance for stressful client interactions
- Possess a team-work orientation
Shifts: US, Asia, and Euro – Asia shift 9 am – 6 pm and flexibility to work on Euro shift 11 am – 8 pm when requested
