Securities Ops Project Manager AVP
The team is 13 people strong and focus on change requested by the Ops teams as well as change requested by the business, around new products, new markets, clients looking into new trading strategies as well as industry led mandatory projects. This team perform the initial analysis work and look at the operational impact and then manage the end to end front to back project.
As a Project Manager you will be involved in managing anywhere between 6 and 10 projects at any one time as well as managing some of the more junior BA's in the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Problem analysis and definition.
- Production of business cases, including financial modelling and forecasting, to obtain approval to proceed.
- Develop project schedule and milestones.
- Assemble project team, assigning individual responsibilities and co-ordinating activities.
- Manage project implementation and report on progress against plan and budget utilisation.
- Identify and manage project risks and issues.
- Run steering groups and working groups as required.
- Manage or co-ordinate acceptance testing in line with testing strategy.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews in order to draw out lessons learnt and ensure benefit realisation.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of processes and quality standards.
Candidate Profile:
The chosen person must be experienced managing projects front to back and multiple projects at any one time as well as manage the BA elements of the projects.
You need to be able to work in a structured and organised way, holding weekly steering committee meetings, managing and engaging with a variety of stakeholders and managing status updates, risks and issues etc as well as previous management experience.
They are currently training the team on Prince 2 in order to use that methodology combined with fact they use Agile across the business. They are keen to recruit someone who can work in a structured and disciplined way. You must be able to demonstrate a history of delivery on your CV and for those deliverables to be clear.
They are looking for someone that has a good understanding of operations and the life cycle of a trade and Knowledge of Operational processing (trade capture, confirmation, settlements, lifecycle management, asset servicing).
This person could have come from ops line and moved into change but they must have structured change experience and have performed a pure PM role. The candidate should also have good product knowledge: Securities (Cash Equity and Fixed Income).
