Patrol facility or man post as instructed and serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or client rule infractions at or near assigned post which may be a threat to the property, client or employees at the site. Report all incidents, accidents or medical emergencies. Respond to emergencies, such as medical and bomb threats; and to alarms, such as fire and intrusion by following emergency response proceedings. Security Officer Basic Qualifications: ? Must be at least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements. ? Must have a high school diploma or GED, or at least 10 years of verifiable employment history. ? At least one verifiable employer or an Asociates Degree (either is aceptable, only one is required) ? No criminal convictions as specified under AlliedBarton guidelines. ? Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the English language for the purpose of public interaction and report writing. ? Authorized to work in the United States. ? Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. ? Negative result on pre-employment drug screen. ? Successful completion of AlliedBarton?s Security Officer Basic Course exam. ? Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard. ? Neat and professional appearance. ? Friendly and professional demeanor. ? Ability to provide quality customer service. ? Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively at client site. Job Description The Safety and Security Officer position is responsible for the day to day security and safety operational issues. The Officer will be responsible for acting in a proactive capacity to ensure safety and security compliance from all Client employees. Candidates will be expected to perform basic security functions to include fielding customer service issues (badge access, etc.), assisting with evacuations and major emergencies (ERT Call Outs), perimeter security audits, and basic service requests such as unlocks, lockdowns, escorts, and disciplinary standbys. Understanding radio protocol and radio communication is preferred. A flex officer is used to fill open posts on the schedule when there is planned time off for regular full time officers. Flex officers are also on-call for when there are call offs. A flex officer is not guaranteed hours and must be available on atleast 2 different shifts. Flex officers receive the same training as full time officers and can switch to a regular post when one becomes available. Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must be detail oriented and work well under pressure. Must be able to effectively multitask and prioritize. Must appear and present themselves professionally. ?Image is Critical? Must be a team player and have the ability to work with minimal supervision. Respond to all emergencies as directed by SFOC. Assist emergency response teams as directed. Conduct interior and exterior building patrols as required. Ability to perform interior patrols on foot in large buildings with multiple floors. Report all safety and security violations to Shift Supervisor and/or SFOC. Will conduct Security/Safety audits. Provide support to fellow officers as needed. Issue parking violations. Must be able to write detailed reports as needed either on paper or on a computer.
