Security Master File Supervisor recruitment
The Supervisor of Security Data Quality will be responsible for managing a team who is accountable for creating and maintaining security setup data, including but not limited to asset descriptions, ratings, coupons, factors, amortization and call schedules and price-related fields as set in the Security Master File procedures. This individual will implement and maintain rules which drive Western Asset Management’s proprietary security hierarchy and will also insure the quality of all security data that get propagated to downstream systems. This person will act as a pivotal liaison to other operations groups and internal business units in order to establish security level data integrity throughout all WA systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and tactical leadership to Security Data Quality team, which includes but is not limited to organizing the work flow among the team members of the group to ensure coverage of all tasks and business priorities
- Organize process to ensure accuracy of security set up in Global Data Repository (GDR) for newly purchased, transferred and modeled securities and any and all downstream systems.
- Devise workflow and leverage technology for the creation and maintenance of all security level information
- Act as project lead/manager on systems enhancement initiatives (i.e., end user requirements, project plans, etc.)
- Liaise with Analytics/Risk Management, Pricing, Information Technology, Investment Management, Compliance, Trade Support and Portfolio Administration to determine appropriate security structure within WA systems.
- Ensure timely and proper responses to ad hoc inquiries and requests regarding security set-up and maintenance from all WA offices worldwide
- Establish additional control measures to improve quality and increase efficiency, while providing timely and accurate data quality measurements/reporting
- Provide active support to the WA offices worldwide on various SMF issues
- Capably manage headcount, effectively train, educate and encourage full-time and temporary employees
- Organize the work flow among the members of the group to insure coverage of tasks assigned
- Participate in annual goals setting and performance reviews for members of the team
- Work with manager to set strategic goals for the group
Qualifications:
- Eight to ten years of related industry experience with proven supervisory capabilities leading a team within an operational function.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid technical, analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong computer skills (MS Excel, VBA and Access)
Academic Qualifications (minimum requirements):
Undergraduate degree minimum requirement with Finance degree preferred; advanced degree in similar discipline is a major plus
