The Role / Responsibilities:

 

Detailed Duties

 

Financial Accounting

* Take ownership on the financial of the entities assigned

* Review all vendor invoices and payment vouchers, making sure they are routed to the appropriate approvers for approval and correctly recorded.  Liaise with Account Payable Hub

* Review all AP costs and allocations charge in from other group entities

* Initiate cost allocation, charge out and intercompany invoicing to other group entities

* Liaise with HR on payroll related entries and solve any outstanding issues proactively

* Ensure all accounting entries are booked correctly in accordance to accounting policies

 

Regulatory Reporting and Compliance

* Work closely with the Treasury based in HK on monthly cash flow forecasts

* Preparing monthly Austrlian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) checklists on time. Ensure AFSL financial conditions are in compliance

* Staying alert of any cash flow changes and heads up the management on key issues

* Coordinate monthly cash transfer

 

Internal Control

* Familiar with all the internal controls and SOX requirements

* Ensure all Internal control and SOX requirements are fulfilled

* Prepare monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation, checklist and other documents as per SOX and internal control requirements

* Ensure TE reports/claims properly filed per Company Policy

* Assist internal audit team during internal audits

 

External Audit

* Work with external auditors on statutory audits

* Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting documents

* Draft statutory audited financial statements

* Update the disclosure note to financial statements according to new and updated AIFRS and statutory requirements

* Make sure the statutory audit is completed prior to the internal deadline.

 

Taxation

* Work together with the Asia US Tax team to ensure all local tax filings are submitted to local Tax Authority before due

* Prepare monthly BAS/IAS and support annual FBT/Payroll tax filings. Ensure the lodgement/payment before due date

* Assist in  annual income tax return and answering tax queries

Financial Reporting

* Prepare monthly financial package including US GAAP reconciliations

* Prepare analysis with commentary on material variances

* Assist manager in providing financial report on a quarterly basis for the country manager meeting  

* Assist manager in improving existing and creating new financial reports

 

Others

* Provide recommendations on improvements to operations (efficiency, system or control based).

* Notify manager of any irregularity, breach of controls, non-compliance with SOX internal control requirements and potential/foreseeable issues immediately.

Any other tasks assigned

Qualifications:

* Qualified accountant with 4-5 years of relevant post qualification experience

* Sound technical knowledge of local requirements, AIFRS and US GAAP

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

* Detail-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines

* Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

* Proactive, good Team player and able to provide strong support to manager 

* Fluency in both written and spoken English

* Audit experience in Big 4 preferable

* Proficiency in PeopleSoft Hyperion System a plus
