Your responsibilities will therefore include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare quarterly, annual and periodic financial statement and regulatory filings, for both the holding company and operating company.
- Keep accurate records of all holding company, operating company and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure appropriate procedures are followed for capital reductions, dividends, share repurchases and credit.
- Manage tied asset positions, compliance with FINMA investment guidelines; bank and custody relationship, under the guidance of the CIO and Treasurer.
- Manage cash position; ensure adequate funding for dividends and expenses.
- Prepare related filings as required, including statistical reports.
- Manage tax filings and reporting, including federal, cantonal, VAT, transfer tax and stamp duty.
- Provide updates to management on developments in financial reporting requirements and developments in tax regulations.
- Maintain financial controls and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley and local requirements; develop and maintain local controls consistent with corporate procedures.
- Coordinate Swiss audit with external auditors.
- Prepare business plans and filings as required by FINMA.
Our ideal candidate must have the following background and abilities:
- Accounting certification. (CA, CMA, CPA)
- A minimum of 5 years experience in Swiss financial reporting for insurance and/or reinsurance companies.
- Detailed knowledge of Swiss Code of Obligations.
- Excellent proven communication, management and interpersonal skills.
