Senior Accountant Job in New York 10016, New York US

International, publicly traded, prominent Media company seeks a Senior Accountant to join their team. This Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and be responsible for various aspects of day to day accounting tasks, management reports, ad hoc analysis and special projects assigned by the Controller and/or CFO. Must have 7+ years of hands on accounting experience to include Financial Statement reporting, Cash Management, Intercompany Transactions and General Ledger Accounting.
 

Duties include:
- Journal entries, Balance Sheet account analysis, PL account analysis and preparation of the monthly closing reconciliations.

- Manage intercompany billing/payments to counterparty units, pertaining to management fees, interest, and the allocation of all applicable expenses.

-Manage intercompany confirmations of loans, trade balances, management fees.
- Resolve intercompany balance discrepancies. 

- Overall Cash Management, from daily analysis and calculations to managing short term borrowing and investing.

- Manage intercompany cash pooling structure.  Work closely with operating units to resolve issues, facilitate transactions, and reconciliations/reporting.

- Prepare cash flow forecasts and collaborate with the units' finance department daily on cash requirement.

- Process electronic payments including foreign exchange transactions.

- Administer online banking platforms.

- Maintain cash management strategies, consolidation/maximization of corporate accounts, lock boxes and other related treasury duties.

- Preparation of quarterly and year end budgets, and monthly analysis of budget to actual and forecasts.

- Assist in the preparation of auditor requested schedules.

 

 

Qualified Candidates will have:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
- Strong accounting foundation solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.

- Strong knowledge of banking practices, cash management and treasury operations.

- 7+ years of corporate finance and/or Public Accounting, CPA preferred.
- Cash management experience over multi-entities.
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
- Dynamic detail oriented personality with a strong sense of urgency around details and deadlines.  Able to prioritize workload and exhibit sound judgment in sensitive situations and/or materials.
- Creative thinker with a proven ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems efficiently while maintaining confidentiality.

- A proven ability to interact and be a team player with all levels of employees and senior management.
- Excellent PC skills inclusive of Excel, Power Point, Word, Solomon Financial System required.  BPC Management Reporting a plus.
