Senior Analyst Fund Investment Team recruitment

To satisfy the needs of our growing client base, Hamilton Lane is looking to hire a Senior Analyst to join our Fund Investment Team in Philadelphia for our 2 year program. The Fund Investment team annually reviews hundreds of primary fund investment opportunities in search of the best funds and managers in private equity. We cover primary partnership investments across all sub-asset classes including corporate finance/buyout, venture capital, mezzanine, distressed debt, and industry focused funds across all geographic regions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• The screening and evaluation of new investment opportunities

• Work as part of a team to develop investment decisions regarding private equity funds, including performing quantitative analysis on fund managers’ investment performance and preparing written investment recommendations for the firm’s investment committee

• Analysis relating to the creation of value-added private equity research reports on such topics as: i) the monitoring of existing investments; ii) general trends in private equity; and iii) specific investment strategies

Necessary Qualifications:

• BA/BS required (Economics, Accounting, Business or Finance preferred).

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance, investment banking, financial consulting, equity research or private equity is required.

• Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel (modeling skills required) as well as the ability to conduct research.

• Must have strong written and oral communications skills.

• Must be proactive on assignments/projects and demonstrate initiative.

• Must be able to complete projects on time and accurately and be able to multi-task.

• Candidate must have a strong work ethic, professional demeanor and appearance.

• Willingness to work 55 + hour week, some travel required (10%).
