The Ulster Bank Credit Risk Analytics team supports the implementation and use of the RBS suite of credit risk models across UB in addition to the development of macro economic Stress Testing models.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on the credit quality of the Credit Card portfolio both in terms of risk profile and performance and make observations and recommendations as appropriate
- Successfully deliver process, policy and system changes which support/align to Credit Risk Appetite
- Support the risk function by updating and enhancing cards portfolio by testing, implementing reviewing strategies for both front and existing book.
- Liaise and communicate to numerous varied stakeholder groups
- Work with Credit Cards products team on new product developments and product changes
Measure of Success
- Provides support through detailed analysis of credit risk data with reports and commentary for Management / Senior Management
- Ongoing review and stressing of credit policies and strategies to gain insight and understanding of trends within the portfolios
- Identifies situations where portfolio performance does not meet expectations , identifies cause and makes recommendations for change as appropriate
- Builds involvement and participation from colleagues/stakeholders to achieve shared goals
- Conducts portfolio analysis and identifies opportunities to minimise loss and/or improve contribution through system/process/policy/strategy enhancements
- Supports the Portfolio Management function in successfully collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver business focussed solutions
Skills and Experience required:
Essential Criteria:
- Practical experience in using tools, techniques and methodologies used to measure and report on credit risk eg. SAS ( and SQL desirable)
- Monitoring and reviewing the performance of portfolios and setting risk strategies
- Advanced knowledge and practical use of Microsoft Excel and/or VBA
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous working experience in a Credit Risk environment
- Credit card portfolio management experience
