Senior Analyst – Special Servicing recruitment
Overview:
Hatfield Philips Deutschland is one of the largest independent commercial real estate servicers in Germany. HPD started its operations in 2007, focusing on primary servicing of small to mid–size commercial loans. Today, HPD provides Primary and Special Servicing for large and mid size, German and German language securitizations and Commercial Real estate Loans. Hatfield Philips Deutschland specializes in German Loan Servicing, and specifically German workout.
In 2008, HPD launched its Special Servicing operation. Leveraging off the depth of knowledge of its local real estate expertise and track record in restructuring, enforcement and workout, HPD took advantage of this existing footprint. These resources enabled HPI, through its subsidiary, to establish a German Special Servicing operation. This consistently proves to be a major advantage over its competitors.
Main responsibilities include:
- Creating cash flow models and tracking transaction performances. The candidate will be involved in underwriting prospective loan security.
- Analysing borrowers’ financial statements, operating statements, rent rolls and clarifying discrepancies.
- Preparing financial models for tracking and forecasting the performance of the transaction. This includes creating and working on rent rolls, covenants, sales, property allocations and capex.
- Maintaining reports for internal and external sources on property value and compliance with transaction documentation.
- Liaising with borrowers and joint venture partners to obtain property and market information along with documentation and information needed in connection with reporting requirements, quarterly borrower payments and property values.
- Working closely with Asset Managers and the Vice President in the production of financial reports and other client reports.
- Preparing underwriting analysis of prospective security properties.
- Reading and abstracting legal documents.
- Due Diligence support for underwriting of new business.
You will possess the following:
- Knowledge and experience of the European Real Estate Market / financial products
- Working knowledge of complex financial calculations and macros.
- Working knowledge of accounting terms and financial principles.
- Work experience in an analytical role with exposure to commercial property/real estate/ financial products.
- The ability to think analytically and rationally and absorb large amounts of financial detail.
- Strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of Windows and Excel.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- European languages – Fluency in German and English is essential.
- Finance / Business / Analytical degree.
