Senior Analyst – Structured Notes Middle Office recruitment
ROLE SUMMARY:
The team has an excellent reputation across front office business areas for technical excellence and professionalism. The candidate must be capable of advising traders and sales best practice for the booking of exceptional trades. Inter-changing and rotation of tasks within the team is promoted. The candidate needs to have a strong business sense and experience of working within Operations and Control.
THE ROLE INVOLVES :
Embrace and implement the vision of IB operations to be recognized as the best investment banking operation by the end of 2010 and focusing on the key areas as the foundation of achieving this goal.
- Recognize and improve any processes that are not operating at best in class levels, enhancing the trade support teams control environment and reputation with our peers.
- Ensure Sales and Trading receive first class service by providing accurate and timely turnaround on all requests
- Ensure all downstream processing areas and beyond receive timely and accurate trade capture information and best in class service in responding to queries that may arise.
- Embrace and implement continuing change surrounding the Structured Notes Trade Capture system and Workflow tool including the evolution of the current booking model to the Target Operation Model alongside the Market Credit Risk Adjustment initiative.
Take lead of various initiatives that affect operations, for example aspects surrounding control, and efficiency. This often results in the Middle Office being delegates to the Front Office for aspects that affect Back Office processes, with responsibility to suggest appropriate Back Office booking methodologies. Will often involve giving advice to other Back Office departments.
- Liaise with different areas of IT to determine what system enhancements and initiatives can be done to improve systems currently used, data integrity and efficiency. Where necessary assistance with the testing and roll out of any new developments.
TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST POSSESS :
- Degree (Financial or Numerical)
- Relevant practical experience in Operations
- Previous experience of managing / mentoring junior staff
- Knowledge / exposure of Structured Notes
- Candidate must be willing and able to support the business as required from open to close, this will require flexibility within the working week.
- Analytical and confident personality with excellent relationship skills in order to interact with sales, trading, and senior management on business issues.
