Senior Auditor Jobs Glasgow
The Role
Reporting to the Manager - Business Assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of internal processes, systems and controls. This includes risk management, control and governance systems and processes and adherence to, and application of, appropriate internal systems and controls, procedures and policies.
Key responsibilities include:-
Deliver Business Assurance audits in line with agreed plan
Deliver audit reports that are factual, relevant and provide assurance to the recipient as to the results of the audit, identify any actual or potential customer detriment (TCF outcomes 1 to 6) and the mitigating actions to be taken by management.
Update the audit issue and action database for all new entries and ensure updates are accurately recorded
Maintain a working knowledge of Business Unit and client activity
Contribute to investigations as required
Ensure all audit and other activity is in line with standards set out in the Business Assurance Manual
Track delivery of own audit assignments and other activity against plan
Ensure that audit assignment planning activity is performed rigorously and that potential duplications with other assurance functions (internal and external) is minimised
The Person
Education to degree level or equivalent.
Postgraduate and/or industry qualifications are also desirable - IIA or recognised accountancy qualification
At least three years experience in the financial services industry, and three years experience within an Internal or External audit environment
Good communication, report writing and analysis skills
Ability to build effective relationships and influencing skills
Effective time management, planning and organisational skills
Aptitude to apply personal learning
Ability to use the relevant software packages
Problem solving skills - thinks through actions and considers impacts on costs and benefits before making a decision
Resilient and act with personal integrity
Able to balance personal delivery with operational team objectives and activities
