Senior Auditor, Norwich recruitment

PURPOSE :

Under the guidance of the Manager, assesses and reports (to Group and Regional/Business Unit Audit and Risk committees and to management as appropriate) on the effectiveness of the design and operation of the framework of controls which enable risk to be assessed and managed through supporting audit reviews in your business unit .
CONTEXT:

Aviva's Internal Audit purpose is 'to contribute to Aviva's success by promoting an effective framework of controls which enable risk in Aviva to be assessed and managed'

The function is a global function in the Aviva Group working across Aviva's regions / business units (Aviva Group Centre, UK, Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and Aviva Investors)
KEY OUTPUTS:

Audit Plan - supports Senior Manager / Manager in the delivery of the audit plan for the area of responsibility including additional ad hoc/ bespoke audit work as requested.

Audit Reviews
* Working under appropriate supervision, delivering specific individual reviews, as delegated, from planning to close and producing high quality audit issues, findings and reports from the reviews assigned to.
* Supports Manager in reporting findings to local business management in order to influence their actions to deliver a more effective controls framework.
* Support Manager in issue tracking process.

Methodology - Appropriate application of the Internal Audit methodology.

Effective People Management - responsible for own development and ensuring objectives are met and personal development plans in place.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Management 1st /2nd line - Under the guidance of Senior Manager / manager establishing adequate stakeholder management as appropriate to gain a good understanding of the business, the challenges it faces and the key inherent risks

Internal Audit - Global IA network to leverage skills / knowledge to improve overall delivery of results

External - External network of peers in equivalent firms and professional service firms to indentify emerging issues / practice

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Professional audit or accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA , CIA or equivalent) or working toward a qualification or equivalent business experience required.
* CII or other insurance / asset management qualification preferred.

* Experience in audit firm or consulting firm in the financial services department OR/AND insurance / asset management company or financial institution or regulation institution. Solid basics of financial / risk / insurance market related topics.
