Senior Business Analyst – Research Technology recruitment
This role is part of the Investment Management Systems group which is responsible for providing technology solutions and support to the Investment Management function Currently our client is embarking on a number of strategic programmes of work across the department to ensure a future technology platform best supports the business objectives and technology goals.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be required to provide business analysis on a mix of strategic and tactical Equity Fixed Income Research initiatives. This includes projects for the implementation of a new suite of Research Management applications, which is part of a multi year investment programme.
The role of Senior Business Analyst is seen as a critical role within the company and will work within global technology teams (London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, India) and deliver solutions to Research Analysts and Portfolio Managers across Europe and Asia. This role will involve an element of business as usual work, so will not be totally focused on new change projects.
As the Senior Business Analyst you will be responsible for the following:
- Requirements gathering and analysis
- Current process and gap analysis
- Provide continued analytical input to development projects throughout the development lifecycle
- Producing, checking and assessing project documentation
- Communicating relevant timely information on projects and issues to both business and systems colleagues
- Represent IMS professionally at project and appropriate business meetings
- Lead BA efforts across the project(s)
- Manage quality of output from BA team
- Co-ordinate BA resources in London, HK and Tokyo
- QA testing
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:
- Knowledge of both agile and waterfall development methodologies
- Experience of working on global projects, within a global team
- Experience of mentoring junior members of the team
- Experience with working with Development QA teams in India
- Experience of project management of small/medium projects
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- SQL skills
- Ability to develop maintain good relationships with all business and systems stakeholders
- Strong customer awareness with ability to manage customer expectations
- Self-motivation, positive attitude and adaptable approach are essential
- Ability to work on a number of projects and tasks concurrently
- Ability to learn and quickly get familiar with a complex business and systems environment
- Equity and/or Fixed Income Research business analysis experience would be highly desirable
