Senior Business Development Director recruitment
Business Unit Information:
This opportunity will work within our Global Institutional business unit and will be focused on acquiring new clients which will utilise our Fiduciary Management Services solution. Our Fiduciary Management solution is a comprehensive set of services which includes strategic advice, investment management, and risk management to UK defined benefit scheme trustees.
Key Objectives of the Role:
- Increase assets under management by establishing and building new selling opportunities for SEI’s Fiduciary Management solutions within the UK market to defined benefit scheme trustees and sponsors.
- Contribute to the development of SEI on a strategic level in terms of development of relationships, solutions and process both internally and externally that relate to new business development within Fiduciary Management and any new initiatives of the Institutional business.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Team Leader to achieve and deliver on sales targets and objectives.
- Engage target prospective clients and pursue new business development opportunities within a defined sales territory. (Sales territory is defined by the management team.)
- Lead prospective client Trustees and Company Sponsor executives through a consultative sales process which includes a business discovery initiative to best understand the needs of the firm and SEI’s ability to deliver solutions to support those needs.
- Qualify opportunities to ensure tight alignment with SEI’s global sales strategy.
- Attend networking and industry events in the pursuit of new business development opportunities. Sometimes this may involve representing SEI by presenting at these events.
- Provide timely and up to date prospecting information such as call reports, presentations, business proposals and contract agreements via our sales tracking technology.
- Ensure smooth transition of the prospect relationship to the relationship team once the contracted relationship has been finalised.
- Liaise with other teams internally (marketing, solutions and relationship managers) to ensure client needs are met and to contribute to developing solutions and products that will ensure SEI remain leading edge.
- Proactively maintain/develop good knowledge of industry trends, market forces, regulatory changes and macro-economic forces impacting SEI’s target market in the UK.
- Any other ad-hoc projects/duties as required.
- Adhere to all relevant FSA requirements and compliance.
Technical Capabilities/Skills Experience Required for the Role:
• Able to demonstrate experience of influencing the decision with senior executives within prospect organisations.
• Proven ability and track record in maintaining a high level of activity to meet aggressive sales targets.
- Proven success in managing and closing complex and high value, outsourcing arrangements.
- Demonstrated success developing and managing relationships with Pension Trustees and Company Executives.
- A strong technical knowledge of pension finance and investments.
• Demonstrated success cold calling, networking, developing new relationships and various other prospecting techniques within a consultative sales process.
- The ability to pick up in-depth knowledge of SEI products and services/technical financial information and effectively communicate that to relevant clients/audiences.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and presentation skills both verbal and non-verbal.
- Strong work ethic and committed to success.
- Proficient IT skills - all Microsoft office products and able to pick up other systems/databases easily.
- CFA designation is a plus.
