The Role
This role reports to the Head of Consulting AP. The Senior Consultant, Analytics, will provide leadership of the Analytics activities of the organisation's Consulting AP CEMEA team, evolving new solutions to enable clients to enhance their payment card portfolio performance.
Assignments will be performed in Asia Pacific markets as well as CEMEA markets and will primarily assist clients with their credit and debit portfolios. This role interacts with senior level stakeholders across organisation's AP CEMEA client base.
Key responsibilities would include providing leadership of Analytics activities / assignments in organisation's Consulting, utilizing both external suppliers and organisation's resources and capabilities. You will evolve the engagement model with vendors and internal providers, work through client and organisation's requirements, establishing privacy requirements, protocols, processes. You will also act as the go to person for complex analytics needs.
You will also be responsible for defining consulting requirements and solutions, developing new solutions, including cross-sell propensity modeling (opportunity for non-carded customers to take up credit or debit cards), drawing on organisation's Consulting's past work, build and evolve key consulting solutions, developing and enhancing tools such as standardized data requirements, data maps, report formats, benchmark references and developing robust statistical approaches to solve analytics needs.
In addition, you will also be conducting complex projects as the AP analytics lead, bringing deep analytics knowledge, payment card business knowledge, strategic insight and practical knowhow to benefit organisation's clients, ensuring quality of work output, reviewing all results and client reports, contributing to and finalise analytics solutions in partnership with vendors and internal resources, bringing local knowledge and context to bear on findings and prepare recommendations, delivering reports/findings and recommendations to clients, conducting client implementation workshop with key client staff to facilitate client adoption of the recommendations and implementation of data-driven tools and insights and collaborate with other organisational functional areas, ensuring alignment of opportunities and recommendations particularly with product functionality and availability.
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, you need to have a related degree (MBA preferred) with at least 10 years of business experience with a minimum of 5 years involved with analytics in banking/payments industry, in a senior capacity. Consulting experience with a proven project management track record is preferred.
Technically, you will need to have superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor. Advanced analytics capability including expert level SAS, SAS EM, SPSS, SQL as well as expert level Excel and Powerpoint is necessary. Proven experience in advanced statistics, modeling and scoring schemes is also a must.
You need to have a deep understanding of card issuers' PL and critical factors in driving profitability and also the ability to think laterally and work with a myriad of challenges across clients, cultures, data types, projects. You must also be meticulous, analytical, independent, entrepreneurial and driven.
Apart from being a team player who is collaborative, diplomatic and flexible, you also need to have excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities. Your experience in and passion for the power of analytics to inform and drive strategy and tactics will be beneficial. You also need to have a global mindset, desire and demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally and in a matrix organization, proven strong relationship management skills.
