Senior Business Operations Analyst – PE

 

Reporting to the Senior Business Operations Finance Manager, the role plays a key part in the Business Analysis Team. This is a dynamic role, requiring a high level of engagement with the business, and the ability to analyse, interpret and communicate complex and detailed financial information.

Key responsibilities;

§  Primary finance contact for retail operations, with a focus on sales, wages  and overheads

§  Additional finance support for Purchasing and all other areas of the business as required

§  Detailed analysis of results across all areas of business, including understanding and analysing key drivers, identifying opportunities to increase revenues or reduce costs, benchmarking between stores, etc.

§  Providing monthly commentary on results, including variances from budget

§  Providing input into budget and forecasting models

§  Respectfully challenging the status quo to encourage continuous improvement across the business

§  Liaising proactively with operational staff to develop relationships and increase influence.

§  Assisting in developing the work schedule for the business analysis team, including priority areas of focus

§  Mentoring junior analyst

§  Ad hoc projects as required.

The successful candidate will have c. 5 years experience within the retail environment and must show a strong interest in understanding and analysing numerical data with a strong eye for detail. They must also demonstrate an Inquisitive nature, ability to prioritise and to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences. Excellent numerical skills and high proficiency with Excel are a pre-requisit and prior experience with Sage and Business Objects is preferred.
