Senior Consultant – Data Specialist (Forensics) – Melbourne – 6 / 12 month contract

The Risk team integrates PwC's expertise in strategic and financial risk, regulatory advice, governance and compliance risk, operational and technology risk, forensics, controls and internal audit. We offer an integrated approach to risk and work with our clients to help them build a resilient and successful business. This involves identifying and maximising opportunities, protecting reputation, mitigating downside threats and designing and implementing an optimised control environment.

Our Fraud Forensics practice offers a full spectrum of forensic solutions, ranging from fraud prevention and detection management to post-incident investigative services and remedial activities. Our team of forensic specialists include former regulators, law enforcement agents, financial crime specialists, forensic accountants, computer forensic consultants and data specialists, all of whom are highly experienced across a full range of industries.

We require a Senior Consultant to join our team. You will be a data specialist with a background in database technologies and an IT related undergraduate degree as a minimum qualification. You will be joining a specialised technical team in our Fraud and Forensics practice and will be primarily involved in applying technical IT knowledge (predominately database and SQL knowledge) to a variety of data related projects including data mining for potential fraud and accounting reconciliation issues. The successful applicant will need to be able to operate as part of a team and also complete individual projects.

To be successful in this role it is envisaged that you have at least 3 years experience in database development, data management or data analytics, either within a Consulting environment or commercial organisation (within Financial Services would be an advantage). You will have hands on experience of working with financial data, programming skills to effectively manage and transform data, and produce reports. Working knowledge of financial systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle Financials, JDEdwards) would be an advantage.
