Senior Corporate Accountant
Our client has an immediate need for a degreed Senior Accountant to join their dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, at least 3 years of verifiable work experience in an accounting related job; strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and professionalism; strict attention to detail; a positive attitude along with a willingness to learn.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Preparation of the Company?s monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to creatively problem solve and draw from disparate sources of information is key.
- Recommends changes in policies and procedures to increase efficiency of operations or to improve safeguards over company assets.
- Assist external auditors in the performance of year-end and interim financial audits/reviews, including the benefit plan audits.
- Assists in the monthly close process; preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assists with accounting, financial reporting and special projects as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in accounting or finance
- CPA is preferred
- Requires minimum 2 years experience in public accounting
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards is preferred
- Expertise with spreadsheets and other PC computer applications is required
- Experience with Oracle Financial systems is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and a proven track record in a large organization are necessary
