Senior Corporate Accountant
Position Overview:
The Senior Corporate Accountant role is within the Corporate Accounting Department of a global asset management firm and reports to the Accounting Manager. The Corporate Accounting Department is responsible for all financial transactions and financial reporting of the firm; including the consolidation of foreign subsidiaries and reporting to its parent company. Applications utilized within the department are Great Plains accounting system, FRx reporting, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. In addition to individual responsibilities, this role will serve as a possible backup to other members in the department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the monthly financial close process to ensure that all transactions are posted correctly and reflected accurately on the financial reports
- Calculate quarterly sales commissions
- Prepare financial reconciliations and analysis of various general ledger accounts
- Review subsidiary financial statements
- Maintain and update monthly forecasts
- Fulfill ad hoc requests from internal and external constituents
- Assist with annual audit work preparing various supporting schedules and client confirmation letters
- Contribute towards the annual budgeting process
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 2-3 years of public accounting experience or experience in a similar role
- Must have extensive experience in Excel and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Previous accounting software experience required
- Must possess strong analytical skills, detail oriented, and well organized
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment, multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
