SENIOR CREDIT ANALYST / CREDIT RISK MANAGER
The ideal candidate will have experience with the commodity market and have previously held credit and risk management positions. The focus is on Agri commodities.
Prospective candidates who are familiar with highly complex deal and security structures acquired in commodity finance banks, physical trading house or industry player thus possess an excellent background. Exposure to market risk management would create a competitive edge versus other candidates and create broader risk management opportunities and responsibilities within the organisation.
The ideal candidate would be a self-starter and demonstrate strong initiative in developing the role and contributing to the growth of our business in the region. An ability to respond quickly is important given the fast moving markets and transactional nature of our business model. The ability to work closely with business leaders, on one hand supporting the growth of the business, while remaining independent is critical to the position. Experience in managing this duality is a plus.
- Analytical skills should include financial analysis, market and operating risk exposure assessment, use of comparables, and other data analyses skills. Strong computer knowledge including financial modelling skills as well as exposure to trading platforms and accounting systems would be a plus.
- Independent credit analysis and recommendation of limit/terms for large and small counterparties of assigned counterparty and product portfolio, as well as related liaison with other credit personnel and departments.
- Analysis – review trading counterparties to recommend counterparty limits and credit terms for new and existing counterparties, including payment, mitigation and other credit relevant terms.
- Monitoring/Surveillance – monitoring news/market developments of assigned counterparty portfolio, and assisting in internal monitoring of counterparty exposures and mitigation (supported) of actions thereof.
- Counterparty relationship – maintaining relationship with appropriate counterparty personnel for credit purposes, working closely with commercial desks and functions.
- Credit policy compliance – ensuring compliance with the credit policy, and working integrally with global and regional credit function across all products where relevant.
Key Skills:
- University degree or equivalent
- Credit management in particular credit analysis and related deal structuring of about 10 or more years.
- Commodity and trading background is preferred.
- Language – English (required), Chinese or any other language (plus)
- IT skills – norm (spreadsheet, powerpoint etc)
- Strong communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management including interaction with culturally diverse managers and traders.
