Job Description
- The successful candidate will help lead the Firm's Capital Markets Division in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Develop and implement a successful credit risk management strategy for the Asia region across all traded products.
- Partner with Front Office and senior business leaders within the Firm to help drive the Capital Markets Division’s product growth strategy. Specific knowledge of U.S. mortgage products and interest rate derivatives are required.
- You will need to develop strong working relationships with Relationship Managers and Risk Officers representing Financial Institutions Group, Global Banking and Global Financial Institutions.
- You will be required to regularly work with local Legal, Compliance and Documentation staff.
- Responsible for preparing and submitting credit requests to the Wholesale Counterparty Credit Risk unit to support counterparty trading relationships not otherwise covered in other Wholesale Banking Divisions.
- Counterparty types are institutions including Asset Managers, Broker Dealers, Pension Managers and Hedge Funds.
- You are expected to write and/or contribute to substantive Credit Policies and drive implementation in the region.
- In addition, you will be responsible for setting standards within the region that reflect the overall risk appetite of the Firm.
- Travel within the region and some travel outside APAC is required.
The Successful Applicant
- Candidate will have at least 10+ years of relevant capital markets risk experience at a Tier 1 Investment Bank with specific expertise covering the Asian markets and the Asian investment client base including: Asset Managers, Broker Dealers, Pension Managers and Hedge Funds as well as other counterparty types.
- You must possess a deep understanding of the Capital Markets and the Asia-Pacific client base and must be well versed in local regulatory considerations.
- Candidate must be familiar with standard counterparty credit risk management systems as well as standard industry documentation including the ISDA/CSA, MSFTA and GMRA.
- A degree from a four year accredited college or university is a minimum requirement. An advanced degree and/or professional licensing (i.e. a CFA) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English
