Job Description
Standard Poor's Ratings Services is looking for an outstanding individual to join its Data Strategy Operations (DSO) team in London. This position will join the Structured Finance Data Content Management group. The Data Content function of the DSO is the operational arm that provides data management activities across all asset classes for Structured Finance including RMBS, ABS, CMBS, Covered Bonds, Structured Credit and ABCP.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities include ensuring the timeliness and quality of the data reports received from mortgage lenders across Europe, with a key focus on Spain and southern Europe, and the subsequent delivery of standardised content to analytical platforms for Credit analysts internally and to our website for Investors and Issuers externally. This role requires the successful candidate to co-ordinate the collection of data files from a wide variety of mortgage lenders, trustees and servicers. This will require an understanding (or the ability to learn quickly) the details of the data fields, and the ability to communicate these requirements clearly to the data providers. The collected data is used over a number of disciplines within SP and hence the successful candidate will need to co-ordinate their efforts on the basis of interaction between these units.
The incumbent of the role will:

Ensure integrity and quality of European mortgage loan, pool and bond data

Liaise with external data providers

Liaise with internal data users
-
Liaise with data service provider (Crisil) and technical teams where necessary to ensure timely data flow

Utilise normalised data to assist in publications and reporting for the business

Ensure procedures are efficient and that amendments are documented
The role requires day-to-day telephonic interaction with our data service provider, Crisil, based in Mumbai, India. The candidate will be required to learn internal data governance and procedures, applications and databases and in-turn use the knowledge to support the process and address any failures or service level agreement breaches between operations, technical and business teams.
The role will include a focus around managing relations with data providers and data content for our Spanish transactions in particular and will therefore require the person to speak and read Spanish to enable rapport building with both our credit analysts and external parties.
Qualifications

Spanish speaking (business fluency, 1st or second language)

Experienced in the use of SQL to query databases.

Strong Excel skills, VBA if possible, ability to manipulate and interpret data

Ability to interact in a clear concise and professional manner with both internal and external contacts at all levels, strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

Excellent organization and time management skills.

Ability to work as part of a strong team as well as individually

Strong attention to detail.

Basic quantitative skills necessary.

An understanding of European mortgage products and Structured Finance products is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Business Objects, Quality Center and Access are also advantages
