Senior Decision Support Manager

This Senior Decision Support Manager role with a rapidly growing and diverse business in Edinburgh, will appeal to a wide variety of commercial finance professionals, with a sound understanding of cost (direct and indirect).  The Senior Decision Support Manager will be an integral part of the wider planning and strategy team, and will enjoy regular liaison with stakeholders at both Divisional and Group level.  The role of Senior Decision Support Manager has been created as the business moves into the next stage of its growth plans, and the Executive realise the need to maintain a tight control on cost.  Indeed, you will be directly responsible for the provision of financial analysis of a cost base of approx £400m, providing insight into the underlying drivers of cost.

As Senior Decision Support Manager, you will manage the production of the monthly management reporting and periodic forecasting, ensuring that cost management meetings are held on a regular basis, resolving issues as they arise or escalating where appropriate.  A key component of the role will see you leading/refining cost allocation processes to ensure clear visibility of product profitability, which in itself will include the development/improvement of forecasting and reporting across key cost driving items such as Payroll, Intercompany and Cost Allocation.

In order to be successful in this role, you will be a fully qualified accountant with a background in FPA, Decision Support, Finance Business Partnering or similar.  A large corporate background is required, as is the ability to influence very senior stakeholders across the business (particularly outwith the finance function).  A proven self-starter with a keen eye for detail and process improvement, the successful candidate will demonstrate a real willingness to take ownership of the cost base, and be pro-active in driving out all unnecessary cost in the business.

Owing to the relative seniority of the position itself, coupled with the level of stakeholder you will be exposed to, the role will appeal to ambitious, career-focussed individuals looking to work in a challenging, yet supportive environment.
