Purpose of Role
This position is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for our global distribution network. Responsibilities will include teaming with internal customers to create the Global Engineering footprint, leading assigned projects and process improvement initiatives with the Global Engineering team; managing staff development, operating budget and capital expenditures and managing the levels of service provided by third party vendors used to support daily operations and projects.
The position will report to the DVP of Distribution and will interact with various business units including Operations, Retail, Retail Operations, Finance, Loss Prevention, IS, Consumer Service, and various third party vendors.

• Develop and manage an annual operating expense budget and associated capital initiatives
• Provide leadership in the identification and implementation of operational improvements that support global logistics.
• Strategically develop and deploy staff in a manner that enables them to develop their skills while supporting the needs of the business
• Manage 3rd party vendors that provide services, equipment, and materials to meet business requirements. Ensure that requirements/specifications are developed and that contracts are written to specify expected outcomes.
• Pursue innovative initiatives and continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility (may not need based on the recommendation above)
• Develop RFP’s to ensure that we receive competitive pricing and services from our third party vendors

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
• Self-starter with a proven record of troubleshooting, analysis planning, leadership, and project management skills
• Ability to employ Lean, Six-Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance processes, procedures, and forms/templates.
• Analytical skills specific to supply chain initiatives and Retail Store Operations, e.g., cost modeling, supplier performance, ROI analysis, etc
• Experience in handling various proposals and agreements including domestic and international terms and conditions
• Proven ability to move from tactical activities to strategic planning
• Skills in the coaching and development of staff to meet organizational succession planning
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours as needed in the support of a variety of shifts and time zones
• Oral and written communication skills, including formal presentations
An outstanding professional will have…
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, management or related field; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 8-10 years experience managing at a departmental level in a distribution environment; global and retail service experience preferred
• 3+ years of leadership experience in an automated DC of at least 250,000 sq ft; managing multiple facilities preferred
• Proven leadership skills, management, and organizational skills
• Demonstrated positive leadership practices in a global environment and the ability to both manage and work collaboratively with others to achieve desired business results
• Strong project management skills and previous experience on project assignments
• Business acumen, interpersonal savvy, superior teamwork and problem solving skills
• Proficiency with MS Office, CAD, WMS
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support the business including evenings and weekends
• Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations
• Ability to create, compose, and edit written communication
• Must have the ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed
