Senior Economist

 

 

Responsibilities include forecasting and analysis of macroeconomic topics, which may include the U.S. macro economy, state and metropolitan areas, or other major global macro or regional economies;  writing analysis pieces may include real-time analysis and additional commentary for our live website, near-term analysis for monthly subscription products, longer-term analysis for special projects and consulting, and editing analysis contributed by other research staff.  The senior economist also manages, constructs and updates forecast models and is responsible for one of our monthly forecast processes; manages and edits company publications; and presents to clients and other groups as well as establishing a close working relationship with clients . Additional responsibilities may include participation in contract consulting projects and managing customized client deliveries; and contributing to the development and production of new and existing products and indicators.   A Senior Economist will supervise one or more Economists and/or Associate Economists, which includes training, day-to-day management of priorities, frequent feedback on work quality, and formal written and verbal performance evaluations. The job also includes occasional travel for client meetings and presentations.

 

Ph.D. (or ABD) in Economics and minimum seven years relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Economics and ten years of relevant experience with economic analysis, either for U.S. macro, U.S. regional or international economics is required.  Excellent academic record; in-depth research and econometric skills; excellent writing; presentation and interpersonal skills.
