Senior Economist/Market Analyst

We have an opening for a Senior Economist/Market Analyst in our team in Singapore.  The role involves analysis of the Asian economies with a particular emphasis on China, to cover central bank policies and related financial markets.  It will involve the generation of forecasts for monthly and quarterly time series data for key macroeconomic variables, post-release analysis of this data, and the assimilation of the analysis into central bank policy forecasts as well as the impact on the FX and bond markets.

Wider responsibilities include supervision of fellow members of the analytical team to ensure analysis is posted accurately and in a timely manner, along with the production of daily and weekly customer emails.  A wide knowledge of other markets both in Asia and Worldwide is also essential in order to cover other members of the team during absences.

The successful candidate will have at least five years experience in this sector with a strong track record.  He or she will likely be in possession of a post-graduate qualification in economics encompassing a high level of macro-economic theory as well as practical econometric study. The ability to write fluently in English with minimal need for editing, to react rapidly to market moving events, and to work in a pressurised team environment in order to meet tight deadlines is essential.

He or she must also be in possession of all necessary permissions to reside and work in Singapore.
