Senior Engineer, Engineering Business Unit Job in Sunnyvale 94089, California US
Bloom Energy, a solid oxide fuel cell company, is looking for a Senior Engineer, Engineering Business Unit to support product technology transfer for mechanical assemblies. This position will require close interaction with Product Development, Supply Chain, and contract manufacturers to transfer new technology, implement changes, and support cost reduction activities. This position will be responsible for supporting the product team to meet functional, financial, and business plan objectives. The individual should be a dynamic professional who is looking for a rewarding future in one of today's most exciting technologies.
- Manage technology transfer from product development to Tier I/II partners
- Support overall cost reduction activities including Design for Manufacture (DFM), localization, process improvement, and alternative sourcing
- Manage overall change implementation to release new designs without impacting production schedule
- Support cost modeling for existing and future product lines
- Support product development roadmap incorporating design change and implementation to current and future product lines
- Foster a collaborative work ethic within the program team and other related program teams
- BS/BA in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering desired with experience in mechanical design and project management
- Experience with complete product lifecycle development, especially new product introduction (NPI); ideally in a high volume manufacturing environment
- Ability to communicate clearly across engineering, supply chain, and finance disciplines
- Experience with a structured project/program management process
- Experience with aggressive cost reduction programs
- Experience with change management processes and ability to drive changes through in an expedited fashion
- Ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities
- Ability to work closely with vendors to under a rapid change environment
- Ability to lead, develop, and support technology transfer activities and relationships
- Ability to define problems, collect, and analyze data, understand test results and implement solutions
- Manage effectively with multiple priorities under tight deadlines and to complete assignments
- Strong verbal, written communication skills in English required
- High attention to detail and accuracy character traits needed
