Senior Engineering Manager Job in San Francisco, California US

Parsons Brinckerhoff has an immediate opening for a Senior Engineering Manager to build and lead the Highway Transportation program in Northern California. This position is a key leadership role in the California Region. The right candidate is an experienced leader in the Transportation industry with strong client relationships. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in directing extensive engineering projects of significant importance. PB is looking for a self-starter, who can set strategy and achieve results. Opportunities exist for this person to work in concert with other managers in other offices, regions, markets, etc. to achieve PB’s overall financial and market success. Responsibilities include:

  • Building and leading the transportation services group in Northern California
  • Serving as PM and/or pursuit manager on key strategic pursuits
  • Leading and directing the civil engineering group in the San Francisco office
  • Establishing long-range plans and objectives
  • Assuring that engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives
  • Leading multidiscipline teams internal and external to PB
  • Leading and participating in key negotiations and teaming strategies
  • Serving as the key contact for highway and other transportation pursuits in the San Francisco Bay Area

  • Experience Required:

    The candidate must have a minimum of 18 years experience in the transportation planning and engineering practice area with specific experience in project management and operations, including preparing strategic marketing and business plans; maintaining schedule, budget, and profitability of assigned projects; preparing and managing proposals and presentations, and working with clients and PB managers of various disciplines. The candidate must have strong leadership skills and a proven track record for winning work in the San Francisco Bay Area market.

    This position requires a self starter with strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with Caltrans and local agencies in Northern California is a must. Affiliation with professional societies and active community involvement is highly desirable.

    Education Required:

    The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, or a closely related field, and have an active professional registration as a civil engineer in California.
