Senior Finance Analyst- Group Finance recruitment

The opportunity is suitable for a self-starter who is able to quickly build effective networks both within Group Finance and with senior finance colleagues in the Divisions and Businesses. 

Core Responsibilities

• Support the Head in the development of new and more effective ways of measuring and reporting business performance and continuously improving the suite of analysis of the key drivers of Group performance.

• Develop and apply analytical techniques to work with the Divisions to enhance understanding and insight at Group level into the key drivers of performance.

• Contribute commentary in respect of Divisional performance within the Group Consolidated Reporting that is informative and insightful and ensures the key issues get surfaced. 

• Develop a strong understanding of the key businesses, products and strategies within the Divisions to assist in the interpretation of the results in the context of the current operating environment (economic, competitor and regulatory)

• Work on ad-hoc projects involving Group Finance and the Divisions and commercial Business Analysis

• Support the budgeting, planning and forecasting process by assisting Group Finance colleagues in understanding the issues and opportunities facing the Divisions across the Group.

• Support the Group’s external reporting process at Quarter, Half Year and Full Year in terms of co-ordinating the News Release preparation and working closely with the Investor Relations team

• Assist in the preparation of the Reporting Reference Pack produced for the Group Finance Director and the Investor Relations team to support external messaging and QA with both the buy and sell side analysts.

• Prepare briefings for the Group FD, Director of Group Finance and Group Financial Controller as required on issues and topics of interest

Key Skills and Competencies

• Strong report writing skills and ability to work with stakeholders across the whole Group.

• Financial acumen and commercial experience (ideally within Financial Services)

• Strong stakeholder management- able to influence at Senior level and build effective relationships across the Group.

• Ability to produce high quality work to tight deadlines

• Beneficial experience- Corporate treasury, funding, liquidity, Reg framework
