Senior Finance Business Partner – General Insurance
Our client, a market leading General Insurer, is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to join the business in a commercial decision support capacity, responsible for existing and developing personal insurance products though their life cycle. Using a developed analytical capability, the successful applicant will support the general insurance teams in the areas of idea generation, identification of cost/profit levers and KPI tracking, as well as assisting in the planning, forecasting and product validation stages of new business.
Main responsibilities will involve;
- Working closely with the business and claims department to provide MI and analytical capability to project teams looking at new product generation, drivers behind their success and KPI tracking.
- Partner all business and claims department teams providing support where required leading to the development of robust benefit cases and KPI tracking.
- Provide support in coordinating sign off with key stakeholders, Commercial Analytics, Finance Actuarial, on benefit figures and targets once projects have been statistically validated.
Support in the understanding of Actual vs. Expected benefit deliver and explain variances from forecasts.
- Manage quarterly forecasting for the business.
- Enhancing database analysis and interpretation capabilities.
Develop the framework for the MI function plans and ensure trends are forecasted to assess current potential impacts.
Required skills/knowledge;
- Macro and Micro Analytical skills - the ability to manage and present data at a project level, as well as being able to consider wider factors which may impact on the data being reviewed.
- Experience in statistical approaches from defining, measuring, analysing and controlling processes.
- Experience or knowledge of analytical modelling/trending.
- Basic understanding of the General Insurance specifically Personal Insurance Claims.
- Understanding of the project lifecycle from ideation through to lessons learned and close out
- Highly numerate with advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
CA/CPA/CIMA qualified, to be considered for this position, you will have a minimum of 5 years financial and management accounting experience from within the insurance industry. From a technical perspective, you will have strong financial management, capital management and scenario planning/modelling capabilities. Candidates will have exceptional communication, planning, leadership and project management skills.
