Senior Fixed Income RFP Writer recruitment

AllianceBernstein’s Fixed Income Product Management Group is in search of a Senior RFP writer to play an integral role in business development and client service efforts globally. The successful candidate with write both standard and custom fixed income RFPs, RFIs, Due Diligence Questionnaires, Database Entries, and other material for AllianceBernstein’s Institutional and Retail distribution channels.  The writer will work with Institutional and Retail sales advisors and associates globally, contributing to new business development through well-written, compelling RFPs and other proposals. The Senior RFP Writer will become a fixed income “content specialist” and help maintain the firm’s fixed income content management system.  This position is located in our New York office.

Job Qualifications

• 8-12 years professional RFP writing experience. Dedicated fixed income RFP experience required.
• In-depth knowledge of global fixed income markets, securities, and investment processes.
• Experience working directly with portfolio managers and other technical experts, with proven ability to translate technical investment concepts into understandable, benefits-oriented RFP and other marketing language.  
• Excellent and highly productive writer with ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to customize proposals for distinct market segments and client needs, e.g. insurance companies.  
• Strong knowledge of institutional and retail marketplaces and sales processes, including role of consultants.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills; able to delegate component tasks to subject matter experts and still ensure that assignments are completed in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated initiative and good judgment as well as ability to work well under pressure and with time constraints.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a large global organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with ability to quickly master internal systems and applications.  
• College education required. Advanced degree(s) a plus.  
Job Description
Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Positioning responses to and writing RFPs, RFIs, and due diligence requests for fixed income product line.
• Customizing proposals to directly address client guidelines, requirements and needs.
• Maintaining consistency and quality of fixed income language on consultant and third-party databases, updating when needed.
• Maintaining quality, timeliness, and accuracy of key messaging within our content management system.
• Reviewing and editing the work of more junior writers when needed.
• Collaborating with departments throughout the firm to develop new language and obtain information, including but not limited to Portfolio Management, Research, Product Management, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Reporting.
• Coordinating production of final proposals (formatting, technical editing and reproduction) and following up with Advisor for status.  
• Providing answers to ad-hoc fixed income questions from Advisors, Associates, Product Management colleagues, and RFP writers.
