Senior FX Risk Analyst Job in New York County 10005, New York Us
Identify, measure, manage and report FX risk for 100+ global branches and subsidiaries of AIG at the local entity and consolidated level, using asset/liability matching, derivatives and other solutions.
- Take a lead role in the development of comprehensive financial models to analyze operating company sensitivities to changes in market conditions
- Analyze and understand balance sheet accounting components by legal entity in original, functional and reporting currency in order to understand impact to financial statements. Provide FX reporting for SEC disclosures
- Conduct company, industry and market research using online tools including Bloomberg
- Work with regional controllers, CFO's and Treasury to validate FX exposure and understand forecasts. Work with Capital Management Group to understand local regulatory requirements for various regions including: AsiaPac, Europe-Middle East Africa, Latin America, Far East and US
- Understand industry, economic and accounting developments in order to identify FX risks and opportunities
- Monitor foreign currency markets, keeping up with research provided by various investment banks and staying current on market movements and events
- Manage policy documents, ISDA agreements, accounting compliance documentation and other legal/regulatory agreements as necessary to ensure hedge program meets constituent's requirements
- Participate in other areas of Treasury such as liquidity risk management and intercompany loan and guarantee pricing
- Prepare and present management reports on hedge program capabilities and enhancements
- Quarterly balance sheet analytics - explaining differences in derivatives MTM balances between quarters for Accounting
- Quarterly FX exposure forecast - work with FPA to establish forecasts for hedge MTM
- Participate in a project to implement a Treasury workstation to ensure FX risk management requirements are addressed
- Maintain audit trail of all derivatives trade tickets, confirmations and authorizations
- Assist in updating liquidity, foreign currency risk management and other Treasury policies
- Build and maintain financial models that perform stress testing (such as a VaR analysis) and create sample financial accounting results using scenario analysis
Position Requirements:
- Excel/Powerpoint - Advanced level skills are required
- Experience working with Bloomberg highly desired
- Bachelor's degree in a business major including finance or accounting strongly preferred
- CPA, ideally from BIG 4, a plus, although the role is not accounting focused
- Finance - understand of basic finance concepts, bond math, strong quantitative analysis skills, knowledge of the purpose and calculation of VaR
- Knowledge of hedging strategies, derivative
- FAS 52 and FAS 133 skills are key areas of accounting that will need to be understood
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing to subordinates, peers and senior executives
Able to grasp new concepts quickly, inquisitive, analytical - Experience creating and presenting information using PowerPoint
- Organized, able to prioritize and multitask
