Senior Group internal Auditor

A £3bn turnover Technology based Financial Services firm is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join their Group Finance team.

As a member of Group Internal Audit (GIA) your main focus is to help protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the organisation through ongoing audit activity. Audit's scope is unrestricted but will focus on evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes and internal control systems as well as ensuring the business complies with good governance and extant business rules and regulations.

The role will include sporadic domestic travel to other operating locations; on occasion you may also be asked to travel overseas.

Key Accountabilities

- Undertake interviews with management and staff

- As required lead audits under the supervision of an Audit Manager in accordance with internal methodology and IIA standards.

- As the lead auditor document the detailed scope of the audit, audit programs, issues and final report

- Participate on audits and document workflows of operations and identify key risks, controls and procedures

- Negotiate management actions to mitigate identified business, operational or control risks

- Interact with business management as required and demonstrate ability to develop relationships through strong evidence of audit, technical, and business expertise.

- Assist the audit managers and Chief Internal Auditor where applicable on non audit tasks (this may include annual audit planning, relationship management and special projects).

Skills Experience

- University degree

- CPA, CA, CIA, CIIA or equivalent

- Extensive experience in audit or experience of being an internal auditor in a FTSE 250+ PLC

- Financial Audit experience with understanding of IFRS

- Strong communication (written and spoken), presentation and influencing skills

- Stature and confidence to interact with Company personnel with the ability to demonstrate objectivity, integrity, independence and drive

- Ability to make recommendations in the face of complexity, conflicting pressures and ambiguous circumstances
