Senior Valuations Controller

A leading Banking Group is searching for a Senior Valuation Controller to join their Investment Banking division. The successful applicant will join a team of 4 controllers responsible for performing Independent Price Verification (IPV), impairment review for ABS assets globally and supporting the financial reporting for ABS-based funds in the Global Asset Management (UK) business. The team operate as part of the wider Credit Valuation Control team within Product Control.

As Senior Valuation Controller your responsibilities will include;

- Daily interaction with senior Finance and Front Office stakeholders and therefore will be a conduit to ensure all departments have accurate and timely information;

- IPV analysis of ABS assets held globally and ensure that these are appropriately valued with respect to current best practice and Accounting Standards;

- Review fair value measurement levelling on illiquid assets on a quarterly basis;

- Monthly financial reporting support to the Retail Banking and Wealth Management Finance team for ABS-based funds in the Global Asset Management business;

- Identification and participation in the implementation of initiatives that relate to valuation process / system enhancements and accounting changes as well as working with the Front Office, Business Leads and other stakeholders to enhance the control environment.

To be considered for this position, you will ideally hold a finance qualification (CFA, Masters in Finance, ACA or equivalent) coupled with a strong track record in either Product or Valuation Control with experience of Credit and Rates products. You will have strong stakeholder management skills and have shown the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with individuals throughout your career.
