Senior Internal Financial Reporting Analyst
JOB SUMMARY Responsible for reviewing, analyzing and interpreting accounting, financial, and statistical data, including the preparation of monthly financial statement variance analysis for senior management. Support department, internal teams, and project-based initiatives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience Collect and analyze various financial and operational data Aid in development and implementation of standard operating metrics and reporting mechanisms, regarding business operations performance, to support Sr. Executive decision-making process Assist department managers, directors and senior management on budget and other financial related issues and processes Collaborate with personnel to develop/maintain a comprehensive monthly reporting package inclusive of PL detail, KPI information and detailed Revenue/Expense analysis Ownership of COGS, cost accruals, and balance sheet account analysis Assists in development and implementation of budget/forecast models and analyzes outputs to ensure accuracy Review / analyze monthly financial statement results compared to budgets / forecasts to ensure accuracy and prepare variance analysis for senior management Act as project lead for special projects as well as lead support for financial analysts and internal teams Reviews monthly journal entries created within the department to ensure accuracy Perform monthly gross margin analysis to help identify cost savings and revenue enhancing opportunities Generate detailed regular and ad hoc analysis to support special projects or products Analyze and report on various information requests from Senior Management Perform other duties as requested PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Skills/Abilities and Knowledge Ability to analyze and interpret data Have initiative and enjoy taking ownership of projects / processes Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively Ability to show judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties Ability to work independently Ability to work with others to resolve problems, handle requests or situations Advanced knowledge of personal computer operation and software applications (i.e., spreadsheet, word processing) Knowledge of telecommunications products and services Knowledge of financial accounting principles and procedures (including Sarbanes-Oxley) Knowledge of accounting, finance and budgeting tools, procedures and software Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance CPA Preferred Related Work Experience Number of Years Financial reporting and analysis experience 5-7 Operational analysis experience 3-5 Telecommunications Industry background preferred WORKING CONDITIONS Office environment
