Within the EMEA region, we provide performance, risk and compliance monitoring services to over 150 clients covering Plan Sponsors, Charitable and Government Organisations, Wealth clients and Investment Managers. Currently the department has approximately 60 partners.

This position, based in London, is to act as EMEA Senior Investment Risk and Compliance Consultant covering sophisticated asset owners and asset manager clients, including derivative heavy hedge fund investors, taking daily investment risk services.

The role will also entail a project element.

The EMEA Senior Investment Risk and Compliance Consultant will lead on the implementation of new clients working closely with the EMEA Investment Risk Consultants and Global Investment Risk Compliance Product team.

Duties

•  To act as a team leader of EMEA Investment Risk Compliance Team supplying risk and compliance analytical solutions including

daily, monthly and quarterly ex-ante risk reports, stress and scenario testing, style exposures, asset and liability risk reporting, environmental reports, post trade compliance reports.

•   Managing the EMEA lead on supporting  the sales function to facilitate the sale of analytical solutions to prospects across asset owners, asset managers and wealth prospects in EMEA.

•   Product interaction – working closely with the Risk Product Team and Risk Client Servicing partners to define client / market trends, identify new products and improve the offering of risk and compliance analytical products.

•  Contribute to project streams enhancing market, credit and liquidity risk reporting and work with Product / Systems to improve risk processes.

•  Prepare risk documentation to support partner and client education.

•  Escalate any issues related to potential late communication, client issues, production problems etc and take responsibility for fault resolution.

•  Track all action/issues related to the Risk system and work with the relevant regional partners internationally to resolve issues and escalate as needed.

Knowledge/Skills

Competencies

•  Detailed knowledge of market risk software vendors, analytical risk models – Parametric VaR, Historic VaR, Historical Simulation, Monte Carlo VaR analysis.

•  Strong applied knowledge of portfolio theory and portfolio optimisation.

•  In depth knowledge of investment instruments from a risk perspective – Alternative assets, Exchange traded / OTC derivatives.

•  Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks – UCITS, Solvency 2, FRS, Dutch FTK and their application to risk and compliance solutions,

•  Must have comprehensive experience of ex-ante risk tools, Barra One, Risk Metrics preferred.

•  Experience of Matlab, Visual Basic Business Objects preferred.

•  Previous business development leadership sought

•  Experience of product development, lifecycle and implementation of analytical risk and compliance solutions sought.

•  Strong analytical skills and highly numerate.
•  Good postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field.

•  Extensive market risk experience in a leading bank, asset manager or analytical organisation.

•  Ability to lead a team and work in a fast paced environment.

•  Effective management of senior stakeholders.

•  Strong client consulting ethos.

•  Excellent oral and written communications skills. A competent presenter is sought with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts in plain English 
•  Ability to set priorities, effectively multi-task and manage aggressive deadlines. Strong time management skills.
