MLC Investment Management is Australia's largest, and the world's third largest multi-manager investor, with assets under management of around $55 billion.
Our Investment Specialists are the external face of MLC Investment Management, and a critical conduit between MLC's Investment team and the wider market place. The role provides the market with insight into what is distinctive about our approach and builds the profile of the MLC Investment Management business. In addition, it provides market insight to the business and contributes to investment thinking through the Capital Markets team and each of the individual asset classes.
The key responsibilities include;
- Presentations to a wide range of mid- large audiences on MLC's investment philosophy, process, views and may include coordination of events and campaigns.
- Skilling and education of sales staff and advisors.
- Originate and contribute to investment related written communication, including quarterly investment reporting.
- Support the efforts of the MLC's Portfolio Solutions team in constructing and presenting asset allocation solutions to HNW clients and their advisers.
- Act as the a key liaison with sales and marketing to produce and contribute to investment communication and initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical grounding in investment management with the ability to articulate their insights with conviction to a broad audience. In addition you will also posses;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in every situation, but particularly to medium to larger groups.
- Prior experience communicating the investment outcomes in ways that appeal to different adviser segments and business models.
- Broad asset class focus with strong experience presenting to both institutional and retail clients segments.
- Ability to impart knowledge to 'middle men' (train the trainer type mentality) and engage with a broad range of key stakeholders and end clients
- Strong macro economic thinking and the ability to articulate trends in the broader global market.
- Proactively contribute to product and portfolio management by relaying insights from interacting with various advisers groups across all parts of the country.
