Senior IT project manager recruitment

The Project Manager will work within their EMEA Project Management Practice, based in their Aberdeen office. This client is an organisation going through substantial growth with a strong footprint strong in the upstream Oil and Gas industry. They have and have taken on a number of people to aid their expansion and the opportunity is there for fantastic career progression and opportunities on a global level with some of the largest Oil and Gas clients in the world.

The main duties and responsibilities will include delivering programmes of work to budget, schedule, and the client's satisfaction. The Senior Project Manager will also be responsible for contributing to the development and promotion of the Practice's solution offerings, including consultancy services and Programme and Portfolio Management Offices (PMO). This position offers the opportunity for global travel and work on customer sites.

Day to day you will be responsible for:

* Day to day project management of various IT application, infrastructure and systems integration programmes/projects from approval to closure, adopting recognised industry methodologies and approach and quality standards

* Regular project reporting to the client and management

* Provision of consultancy to customer to establish clear requirements

* Achieving target project satisfaction scores on relevant contracts * Contributing to the Practice solution offerings and business development effort. The Senior Project Manager will possess the following attributes:

* A minimum of ten years experience of managing major programmes and projects (over £1 million) in the Upstream Oil Gas industry is essential

* Experience of delivering projects to global regions such as Africa, Caspian region, Middle East, and the Americas.

* Current Project Management certification, specifically PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner

* Experience of working to a certified Quality Management System, accredited to ISO9001, CMMi or equivalent standards

* Excellent planning skills with ability to prioritise and manage own work on a number of simultaneous projects

* First class customer facing and interpersonal skills

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Ability to effectively manage 3rd party programme/project resources

* A professional manner with the commitment to own a job until the customer is satisfied and the job completed

* Experience of successfully delivering Firm Fixed Price projects to budget and schedule.

In addition to the above listed essential attributes, the following would be desirable:

* Experience of working on Oil Gas Capital Projects is highly desirable, specifically working in an IT Programme Management role throughout the full programme lifecycle.

* Experience of working on Digital Oilfield programmes, specifically in the areas of collaboration and visualisation

* Experience of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

* Experience of delivering projects using an Agile methodology
