Senior Java programmer / Senior Java developer – Greenfield Trading Platform build, Highly Successful Hedge Fund.
Introduction: Montash Associates have been retained by a prestigious, industry leading Hedge Fund, to assist in the acquisition of an experienced Core Java developer with skills in OO design and multithreading to come on board and become a key member of a high profile development team.
The Team: This team consists of the strongest Java developers on the planet, and is responsible for development of enhancements to existing systems, as well the build of a brand new, multi-asset class, high frequency, low latency trading platform that will replace a set of legacy systems and further enhance the leading position of this established organisation.
The Role: The organisation is looking for an exceptional “top 5%” Java developer. This firm is known for only ever hiring the best of the best (and paying them incredibly well!)
A Senior Java Developer is required with excellent industry experience, an ability to produce multithreaded, low latency applications and who is considered “best amongst peers.”
This team also requires a technical lead / development manager who must possess excellent, relevant technical skills as well as the ability to mentor other members of the team.
The Technology: The latest versions of Java will be used on this project. It is essential that applicants have a deep, low level understanding of Java e.g. garbage collection etc. An expert ability to produce multithreaded code to an advanced level is very attractive e.g. dead locking, control locks etc. Candidates must possess expert skills in OO Design, and must be well versed in the most complex areas e.g. Polymorphism etc. The team also works with C++ and C#, so any experience of these is highly attractive
The Candidate: Any applicant must possess a minimum of 4 years working with Java. All applicants for the technical lead must possess at least 1 year of experience as a technical lead or senior developer. Excellent knowledge of Hedge Funds from a business/IT perspective is desirable. Candidates will ideally come from a prop trading, hedge fund or investment banking background, and possess first class, extensive academics.
The Package: Total compensation for this opportunity will be very attractive; a base of up to £120k plus a very competitive package and an uncapped discretionary bonus mean that the best candidates can be assured of an excellent total comp.
