Senior Lawyer, Financial Services
Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Senior Lawyer to join our organisation in Sydney.
In this role, you will closely support the Regional Legal Head of Western Union Business Solutions (WUBS) in the Asia Pacific region (APAC) and provide general legal support to stakeholders in APAC.
The primary responsibilities of this role will include: reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with business partners and service providers, reviewing and drafting customer-facing documentation, researching and monitoring laws in coordination with local external counsel, advising on local regulatory requirements relating to payments, foreign exchange and FX derivatives, and providing general legal support to senior attorneys and internal clients with respect to corporate commercial matters.
Qualifications, Knowledge Skills
The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications with 5 - 7 years post admission experience, and have a strong understanding of economic concepts, the foreign exchange market and its products. Knowledge of the international payments marketplace, financial services legislation and regulation, and general corporate/commercial law is desired as is experience in a high pressure sales/service environment. You will also have strong communication skills, analytical capacity with innovatove problem-solving skills and a high degree of professionalism. In-house legal experience is essential.
