Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Agricultural Economics

Applications are invited for a full-time tenured faculty in Agricultural Economics at the Palmerston North campus of the university. Preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching interest in AgEconomics. A secondary interest in any other Economics specialty will be considered. Experience in using cases in the classroom is desirable. The successful candidate should have an outstanding continuing research record and a strong desire to interact closely with a group of diverse international faculty. Research supervision of honours, masters and doctoral students is also expected.

For this appointment, you will be expected to teach economics at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and be responsible for the delivery of some of the School's papers (courses) in this area. You will also be expected to supervise postgraduate students.

You will have a PhD in economics.

You should have a record of research success and a track record of successful external research funding and/or engagement with the business community is desirable.

We are accredited by AACSB, Association of MBA's and are a CFA partner school. We offer low teaching loads (typically three courses a year). Beginning academics will normally start their career with us at a teaching load of two courses in the first year.

The School of Economics Finance offers degree and diploma courses at the undergraduate, masters and PhD levels. Research activities are supported by a collegial research environment, a Research consultant, an IT Research Analyst and major databases such as Datastream, CRSP, Compustat etc. We support international conferences and other staff development activities. Faculty are actively engaged in research and have published in top journals like the American Economic Review, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Empirical Finance, the Journal of Banking and Finance, among others.
