Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), which is a part of MFG, is a leader in alternative asset management worldwide, specializing in infrastructure, real estate, agriculture, energy and other real asset classes via public and private funds, co-investments, partnerships and separately managed accounts. Its client base is primarily institutional investors, including global pension and superannuation funds, other institutions and governments. The division is recognized for its expertise over the investment lifecycle, with strong capabilities in investment sourcing, investment management and investor relationships.

MIRA's asset management team in New York oversees the operational and financial performance of the various businesses owned by its listed and unlisted funds in the US and Mexico. MIRA is now raising a new unlisted infrastructure fund and plans to acquire additional operating businesses over the next several years. MIRA seeks a person to join its asset management team in New York to work with the operating businesses owned by its funds to improve business performance. The person will also assist with acquisitions and will track MIRA's asset management activities across its US and Mexican investments, using the asset management framework applied by Macquarie globally.

Key deliverables and responsibilities:

· Collaborates effectively with the management teams of the operating businesses owned by MIRA funds to identify and carry out business improvement projects which add revenue, reduce cost or reduce invested capital, all to improve investment returns.

· Evaluates investment opportunities being considered by MIRA's infrastructure funds to assess feasibility of post-acquisition management plans to improve performance. Assists with implementation of business plans after acquisition.

· Remains current on best practice for asset management in private equity and infrastructure sectors; implements improvements to MIRA practices as appropriate.

· Tracks operating business oversight activities conducted by the MIRA New York team to ensure that asset management framework is being implemented consistently and effectively.

· Participates in fund raising and investor relations for funds managed by MIRA NY

Requirements and skills:

· BA or BS degree is required. Masters degree is a plus.

· Strong track record of improving performance of operating businesses by identifying and implementing projects which increase revenue and/or reduce cost, and/or invested capital either as a management consultant, a line manager of an operating business, or in a business planning/financial analyst role.

· At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in a capital intensive and/or heavy process-driven business

· Excellent analytical skills, including facility with necessary business software applications.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Collaborative style, influencing skills, and excellent relationship building skills.

· English language skills are essential. Spanish language skills would be a plus, but are not essential.

· Substantial travel will be required.
