Senior Manager ALM Exposure
An opportunity has arisen within our Asset Liability Management team at Aviva Group Centre for a Senior Manager to lead, promote, develop and implement high quality and pro-active Exposure Management. The role will involve:
- Playing a strong role in the management of the Group's exposures,
- To play a key and leading role in the elaboration and implementation of hedging strategies and exit strategies for risky asset positions
The role of the Senior Manager is to:
- Develop strategies to ensure ALM risks remain within the agreed boundaries of Exposure Management
- Implementation of overlays at Group or regional levels to move closer to agreed target strategic asset allocation. Working with business units to implement trades to manage down exposures
- Definition of the hedging strategies - Design of hedge structure which ensure survival in events of developments that can endanger the Group's solvency survival
- Development of exit strategies for risky asset positions
- Identification of the Group's required capabilities to de-risk in market stress events
- Development and maintaining of a plan to de-risk to meet agreed requirements
- Development of a crisis governance structure which allows quick and efficient reaction to market stress
- Implementation of an appropriate system of limits and early warning indicators including a management information system with executive level reporting
- Design and implementation of monitoring and escalation processes
- Preparation of contingency plans (based on exist strategies and downside hedges)
- Implementation of downside hedges
- Monitoring of hedge prices and identification of market opportunities to optimise our hedges (cost v benefit)
- Implement agreed hedging strategies - interacting with Aviva Investors as well as senior management on a regular basis and in a structured manner to ensure implement the on-going hedging programmes with appropriate sign-off of all transactions
Experience:
- Experience in senior roles in the financial industry - in particular capital markets focus
- Experience in asset and liability Exposure Management used to buy hedges on the market
- Strong technical and practical knowledge of financial markets, risk and reinsurance.
- Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel and VBA would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to model portfolio.
- Strong written / oral communicator
- Good time managing and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work in an international environment
- High qualitative skills
- Manage workload relationships in a flexible, dynamic and proactive manner. Ability to prioritise and plan.
