Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage models to support ongoing forecasting needs for the business, partnering with Business Development and Finance. Identify ways to enhance forecasting process through improved accuracy and automation.
- Influence brand strategy by leveraging knowledge of category, brand and competitive business drivers.
- Support the strategic planning process, providing brand, category and competitive forecasts for 3 year planning horizon; provide analysis and direction to help develop strategies and plans.
- Leverage analytical models to provide direction on pricing and guide pricing strategy development. Improve organization's understanding of price/promotion mechanics. Identify and champion opportunities to improve trade effectiveness.
- Manage team to deliver monthly tracking against KPIs.
- Influence portfolio spend allocation decisions, quantify impact of advertising and marketing tactics and recommend opportunities for improved efficiency via mix model analysis.
- Provide analytic support to the brand teams in sizing/developing initiatives. Use new and/or existing research e.g. market structures, mix models, etc. and syndicated data, to provide POV on volume/cannibalization of new initiatives
- Effectively define business issues based on discussions with business teams, manager and senior management and design appropriate research/methodology to address.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 6+ years of experience in analytics for a CPG company or research supplier required.
- It is important the individual be well versed in advanced analytics and possess the ability to apply analytics to address the company's business problems. He or she must have proven leadership and people development abilities, excellent project management skills, particularly in terms of allocating resources and ability to partner closely with internal and external clients.
- Analytic Ability - Solid critical thinking skills a must. Ability to leverage data and analytics creatively to solve business issues and develop effective strategies.
- Innovates new approaches where required.
- Technical Skills - Expert in variety of advanced analytic approaches including price/promotion models, marketing mix models, in-market testing, and forecasting. Extensive experience in analyzing syndicated data, both scanner and panel required.
- Communication and Consulting Ability: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Able to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations. Partners with internal clients to help them tackle business issues and provides decision-making support through analytic insights; a trusted advisor to his/her clients.
- Business/Thought Leadership: Proactively identifies opportunities and risks on the business; comfortable and credible communicating with and challenging senior management to drive strategies and decision-making in the organization.
- Negotiation/Influencing Ability: Solid ability to influence decisions of senior management and others outside the reporting relationship. Must be persistent and persuasive in driving recommendations forward.
- Coaching and Mentoring Skills: Must have the ability to bring out the best from Analytics staff and provide appropriate guidance to raise the bar on contribution to the company.
- Must be willing and able to travel 10-15% of the time
